The New Port of Katelios
Just a few years ago, a port for boats, sailing boats and other vessels from far away places was built at the edge of Katelios. Even bigger sized ones could approach this port. There is a fence of large stones in order to protect the boats from the weather conditions.
What is also noteworthy is that, during the summer months, besides the new port, many boats moor by the pier in front of the village jetty, which is in relatively shallow water. The jetty is made of rocks and under them are many living seashells. Seagulls often gather here, eagerly waiting for a tasty fish from the village sea. This peculiarity and the marine riches of the area were noticed by some authorities, who suggested the construction of a fishing shelter in the area.
