Museum of Natural History at Davgata
The Museum of Natural History is located in the village of Davgata, just 5 km from Argostoli. It was founded in 1996 by the Nature Preservation Society of Kefalonia and Ithaki and was honoured with the Academy of Athens prize in 2001.
The museum includes an Environmental Training Centre with a library, ‘Herbarium’ and educational exhibits. Its goal is to present an overall picture of the natural environment of Kefalonia & Ithaki, to inform and raise public awareness about environmental protection issues.
Visitors to the museum will become acquainted with the particular natural wealth of these two islands, including geological phenomena, flora & fauna, the Ainos National Park and their wealth of aquatic life.
