Monastery of the Holy Virgin in Lamia & Church of St. John

The Monastery of the Holy Virgin at Lamia lies on the outskirts of Dilinata and possesses a fine, silver embossed icon of the Holy Virgin that is considered miraculous. On September 12th a procession of the icon takes place through the village and a vigil is held at the church of St. John the Baptist, where one can admire the wood-carved iconostasis with 18th century icons and frescoes inside the Holy Altar dated back to the 16th century.
