Mantzavinata

3.3/5 rating (8 votes)

Mantzavinata is a village situated on the Paliki peninsula. It’s on the road from Lixouri to Kounopetra, located at a generally lower altitude.

Quite close to the village is the popular Xi beach, as well as Kounopetra (The Moving Rock). The village has a population of approximately 250 residents, much less than it had in the past.

The most characteristic feast for which the village is known is the Wine Feast in August, organized by the cultural Association of Mantzavinata - Vouniou “Kounopetra”. Besides, the name of the village is closely linked with wine, as the second compound is the word vino, which means wine, revealing the historical connection as well.
