One of the most beautiful and of great historic value sight of Kefalonia is the Castle of Saint George located at the hill next to the village Peratata, at a distance of 5klm from Argostoli. The visitor can admire the captivating view offered in all four cardinal points.
During the Venetian rule it was the island’s capital. Today, trumpet slots, observatories the remains of a bridge as well as a catholic church have survived. Any visitor would be amazed at the majesty of the Castle and he would travel for short time in another era.
